Colt Car Company, Cirencester
(Mitsubishi Motors in the UK) Known as the home of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, The Colt Car Company Limited has its headquarters in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, with an Import and Distribution Centre at the Royal Portbury Dock in Bristol. The Company has relocated part of its vehicle storage capacity to a brown field site development offered by the Port Authority. Whilst the Authority provided perimeter fencing to the 10 acre site, its location presented security implications which Colt Cars decided were best addressed at an early planning stage.

Early consultation By installing the security system at the development stage, Colt Cars were able to circumvent the disruption that retro-installation could have caused, such as the digging of channels and the laying of ductwork around the site for any hard wiring.

The solution The perimeter fence is guarded by Redwall long range infrared sensors which are linked to presets positions for the Pelco PTZ cameras within the compound. These can then be fully controlled from the security office, with the ability to pan, tilt and zoom in on any activity. Additionally, the images can also be accessed from the company's Cirencester headquarters.
